4. Directory Data and How It Was Collected

The majority of the driving school listings on this website were compiled from publicly available sources around the end of 2025. Details such as business names, addresses, phone numbers, star ratings, review counts, and operating hours are a snapshot taken at that time and are not updated automatically. They may since have changed, and in some cases may be incomplete or incorrect.

Our directory is not a complete list of driving schools in South Africa. Many legitimate, registered driving schools are not listed here, simply because they were not captured when the data was collected, or because they have started trading since. The absence of a driving school from this website is not a statement about that school, its quality, its legitimacy, or its standing in any way.

Only claimed profiles, meaning listings that a school owner has claimed and maintains (including our paid Featured profiles), are kept current by the business itself. Ratings, reviews, contact details, pricing, and availability shown on unclaimed listings should be treated as historical information and confirmed directly with the school before you rely on them.

If you own a driving school that is not listed, or that is listed with outdated or incorrect information, you can claim or add your listing free of charge, or contact us to have your details corrected or removed.

5. How Listings Are Ordered and Ranked

The order in which driving schools appear on this website is determined by Find a Driving School's own calculation. There is no human judgement or editorial selection involved in it. Specifically:

1. Claimed and featured profiles are listed first, in a separate section above the remaining listings. This is a paid placement, and those listings are marked as claimed where they appear.
2. Within each of those two sections, listings are ordered by default on the number of Google reviews recorded in our data, highest first. You can change this at any time using the "Sort by" control on the page to order by highest star rating or alphabetically instead.
3. Where a page names its "highest rated" schools, those are simply the three highest Google star ratings recorded in our data among the schools listed on that page.

Two limits follow from this, and they matter. The star ratings and review counts we use are the figures captured when we collected the data around the end of 2025, so they may no longer match what Google shows today. And the calculation can only consider the schools we happen to list, which, as set out above, is not a complete list of driving schools in any area.

Nothing in this ordering is based on pass rates, years in operation, instructor qualifications, inspections, complaints, or any assessment of a school by us. This ordering is our own arrangement of our own directory. It is not:

• an official, independent, or industry-recognised ranking of driving schools
• a measure of teaching quality, pass rates, safety, or professionalism
• an endorsement or recommendation of any school over another
• a statement that a school placed higher is better than one placed lower or not listed

Terms such as "top-rated", "highest rated", or "best" used anywhere on this website refer only to the data we hold for the schools we happen to list, and only relative to that page. They are not an objective assessment of the driving school industry in that area.

Our method may be changed at any time without notice, and a listing's position may move up or down as a result. Paid Featured profiles receive greater prominence on the page; this is a paid placement and is identified as a claimed or featured listing where it appears. We do not accept payment to change the ranking or ratings of any other school, and we do not remove or downgrade a school for declining to pay.
